Graham Revitalization Economic Action Team Minutes

November 12, 2015

I.        Welcome/Introductions

A.     Rick Davis, Executive Director welcomed everyone to the meeting and expressed appreciation to Greg Corvelle, Manager Fontana Village for hosting the meeting and Brookfield Renewable Energy Group for sponsoring the meal.

II.      General Items

A.      A motion was made by Dave Dodson to approve the minutes from September 24, 2015 meeting with a second by Andy Cable. 

B.      The agenda was presented and approved.

III.    Reports/Discussion Items

A.      Committee Reports

·         Economic Development, Business and Industry – Andy Cable.  Job fair will be held January 9, 2016.  Applied for economic development grant thru Golden Leaf

·         Education and Workforce Development – Rick Davis.  Ribbon cutting was held for the outdoor classroom at the Robbinsville High School.  The Dolly Parton Imagination Library is doing well and currently serving 279 children, 477 has graduated with a total of 821 served.  Thirty five new registrations were enrolled at the Halloween Fall Festival with 19 of which were one year old or younger. 

·         Recreation, Natural Resources and Water Quality – David Dodson.  Two tons of trash was picked up off of lakes
